Recording Studio Plays
Key Role in New CT Magazine
February 27, 2006 –
(Manchester, CT) Manchester based recording
studio, Onyx Soundlab, has announced its support
of a new Connecticut lifestyle publication,
Excursionz Magazine. The Onyx Soundlab will be
responsible for creating, developing, and
managing the music section of the magazine,
focusing primarily on local artists, music, and
venues.
The
new magazine will feature articles and stories
about life in Connecticut, specifically in the
six popular areas of dining, music,
motorcycling, real estate, shopping, as well as
other travel and tourism interests throughout
the state. Magazine representatives are
discussing options with the Connecticut Board of
Tourism and other high traffic locations for
distribution outlets. Distribution support is
being finalized with the Connecticut Tourism
Bureaus as well as the Bushnell, Bradley
International Airport, and the new Marriot
Adrienne’s Landing in Hartford. Connecticut
small businesses, hotels, and other tourism
attractions will also carry the magazine
throughout the state, and help distribute the
initial 15,000 copy release.
Onyx
Soundlab owners Adam Gootkin and Peter Kowalczyk
will be assuming the positions of managing
editors for the CT Music Scene section of the
magazine. “The number of talented, serious
musicians in Connecticut is on the rise, and we
would like to provide them with an additional
outlet for their music,” says Gootkin.
Kowalczyk believes that with Connecticut being
directly between New York City, and Boston, the
inevitability of Connecticut emerging as a
national center for music is quickly
approaching.
“This
section of the magazine will feature an
artist/band of the month, a live music venue
feature, a CT music industry report, as well as
articles presented by Connecticut’s music
industry elite,” says Kowalczyk. “This will be
a real opportunity to bring much of
Connecticut’s hidden talent to light,” he added.
